Openaire was created by brothers, Nick and Beau Trincia. According to the Trinica’s, Openaire is a “hybrid of a laptop carrying case, work surface, and chair. The system consists of a semi-rigid protective sleeve designed as an ergonomic laptop work surface and a protective shell that also functions as a comfortable seat.”

The carrying case/work surface is placed on the lap to provide an ergonomic foundation for the use of a laptop while supporting a comfortable and correct posture. Panels on either side of the case can be folded down to provide additional work surface for writing or using a mouse.

The computer is stored in a padded compartment within the case. The ergonomically contoured profile of the case provides additional storage space for hardware and accessories as well as fitting the users lap. The light weight folding chair is constructed of individual panels to contour any body shape.

The folding chair encloses the carrying case/work surface for portability on the go.

Openaire’s flexibility allows it to be used in a variety of locations. It also offers additional support and comfort in existing seating conditions. Anders is taking advantage of the recently installed MuniFi, while escaping his small studio apartment.

The chair encloses over the carrying case/ work surface to become a single form that can be carried like a messenger bag. Sonia heads to happy hour after a successful lakeside web conference with her boss.
